Staff knew people well as individuals and knew what their preferences, likes and dislikes were. People were supported to follow their interests and staff supported them to see health professionals if this support was needed. People were involved in their care and were treated equally and fairly. Care plans gave a good overview of people's support needs and people and relatives were asked to feedback about the service on a regular basis. The service worked closely with other health and social care professionals to provide a consistent service that was tailored to individual needs and preferences.

Equity in experiences and outcomes
People told us they were treated equally and fairly and were provided with the care and support they wanted. People were engaged and supported by staff. They were included and had the same opportunities as others to receive the care and support of their choice. A person told us, “I do see my care plan and I had a meeting with the psychiatrist, care staff and my relatives. They checked everything was correct and it was very helpful.
All feedback we received was consistently positive, a health and social care professional had commented, "It’s clear that the carers really care about the residents. You can see their dedication in how they interact with and look after the people they support.” And “I have found the service to be effective and well-organised. The registered manager has been particularly responsive and accessible and makes sure that referrals to our team are made appropriately and in a timely manner.” A member of staff told us, “The care plans give us good information, it’s very clear. We have handovers morning, afternoon and evenings so we are kept updated. All information is recorded in our electronic system, it works well.”
People's care and support was tailored to meet their needs. Staff knew people well and had completed training in equality and diversity. Care and support records were person centred and set out aspects of people's characteristics, beliefs and preferences. This meant people's equality and diversity were respected. The provider had a variety of systems in place to gather peoples, relatives and health and social care professionals’ views and feedback on the service. Any suggestions or actions highlighted were reviewed and taken up by the registered manager to resolve.
