Equity in experiences and outcomes
People and the relatives we spoke with did not raise any concerns in relation to being treated equally and fairly. Staff treated people as individuals, and listened to people's views. One person told us, “I’ve never seen discrimination here. I couldn’t be in a better place”.
Staff had received training in equality and diversity and understood the requirements to ensure everyone's voices were heard and their rights protected. Staff told us they treated people as individuals and there was a diverse staff team who were able to use their knowledge of other languages to support people whose first language was not English.
The provider’s equality, diversity and inclusion policy contained relevant information for staff to follow, to protect people’s rights to equality and their human rights. The policy guided staff on ensuring equality, diversity and inclusion was embedded into practice. There were a range of processes in place for people to make their voices heard and people felt able to share their views and raise concerns.
