Our view of the service
The assessment took place from 09 September 2024 to 25 September 2024. Platinum Living Care is a domiciliary care agency based in Gillingham, Kent. The agency provides personal care to people living in their own houses or flats who required support to older people, younger adults, adults who maybe living with dementia, people with a learning disability or autistic people and people that have mental health conditions. We expect health and social care providers to guarantee autistic people and people with a learning disability respect, equality, dignity, choices and independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ is the guidance CQC follows to make assessments and judgements about services supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people and providers must have regard to it. Not everyone who used the service received personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. This assessment was undertaken in response to concerns in relation to staffing concerns. We did not identify any concerns in relation to staff recruitment or staff support during this assessment.
People's experience of this service
People felt safe with the staff who they felt knew them well and knew how to meet their needs. People were at the centre of their care and support, making their own choices and decisions. People’s independence was promoted and encouraged by staff whilst their privacy and dignity were promoted. People’s feedback was listened to and acted on.
